My hobby turned into business...
Just like some other entrepreneurs, my love for baking is now one of my source of income. I finally decided to have a home-based cake shop. I chose to name it "Smallville Cake house" because my babies names were lifted from the TV series "small ville"
My first born was named Lana and her sister is Chloe. I have asked one of my student to do a calling card for my business. It looks good and simple. I am also planning to put a small tarpaulin in front of our house so that our neighbors would see and know that I am accepting cake and cupcake orders. The only downside I think of having a business is that your weekends are jam-packed with activities related to baking. Unlike before, I could enjoy relaxing and playing with my children during Saturdays and Sundays.

I am back...
First of all I would like to apologize for not posting regularly into my blog... Boy, its been almost a year since my last post. I was very busy with my job at the school and with so many other things.
I have good news with you guys, I have enrolled myself in a Wilton Cake Decorating class which will start this April 14. It will be held every Saturdays only for 5 whole day session. I am so excited because I have been wanting to learn new techniques in cake decorating. I have very basic knowledge about cake decorating and most of them are self-taught. Recently I have accepted taking cake orders from family and friends. I will post the pictures of my cakes on my next posts. I also had a name for my cake business. I will tell you more about that on some other day. For now, it just feel so good to be able to write again.

Cake and cupcake decorating..
I have been watching these videos over and over. And as a result of repetition, I was able to do this on my own. My iphone needs restoration, so I could not upload my own video. But for now, here is the original tutorial videos. I hope you can also learn from it.. Cupcakes are becoming the in thing for parties now..

Healthy Eating
Here is a recipe for health buffs who still want to eat delicious food but still maintain their sexy figure...
This beet veggie burger will surely be a family favorite and a healthy alternative to the usual beef burgers.
Ingredients:
1 Tablespoon finely grated raw beet
1/2 cup cooked oats (quick or regular rolled oats)
1 cup whole wheat bread crumbs
1/2 cup walnuts, coarsely ground
1/4 cup almonds, coarsely ground
2 Tablespoons sesame seeds
1 Tablespoon Vegix seasoning or instant vegetable broth
1/4 cup green pepper, minced
1/4 cup celery, minced
1/4 cup onion, minced
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon ground sage
1/4 teaspoon mustard powder
2 Tablespoon soy sauce
1 Tablespoon nutritional yeast flakes (optional)
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients together well. Form into patties and gill until cooked through.
2. Serve on whole wheat rolls with tomato slices and your favorite condiments.

Biko *rice pudding with squash
I made my first ever biko a type of rice pudding with mashed squash.. here is the recipe:
1/2 kilo of malagkit rice
1 to 2 mature coconut grated (niyog)
4 cups brown sugar
1/2 kilo mashed squash
few pandan leaves..
Procedure:
Cook the rice by adding the first press of coco milk from the niyog and adding a little water, add pandan leaves.
When rice is almost cooked, add the mash squash and sugar, Stir for about 20 minutes
Do not let the rice burn..
Lastly cook the remaining coco milk until LATIK is formed about 30 minutes on low fire...
top the BIKO with the LATIK..
